Bumi plans to double output in 2012

The company said in a presentation on Wednesday that its giant mines PT.Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) and PT.Arutmin Indonesia would produce 70MT and 30MT, respectively in 2012 and the rest would come from PT.Fajar Bumi Sakti (FSB) and PT.Pendopo Energi Batubara (PEB), which it acquired early this year. FSB mines for coal in East Kalimantan while PEB is a coal mien at pre-production stage in South Sumatra.
The company also said that it targeted to export 20 million tonnes of coal to China in 2012 from nil in 2008. The company planned to increase export to Japan and India to 20MT each in 2012 from around 14MT and 6MT, respectively in 2008. The company also intended to increase domestic sales to 15MT from 5MT in 2008.(alex)
