Bumi Rantau Energi targets 4.5 million tons output in 2012

Indonesia coal miner PT Bumi Rantau Energi targets to produce 4.5 million tons of low rank coal from its mine in Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan.

General Manager for Business Operation of PT Bumi Rantau Energi, Dadang Djupri told Petromindo.Com that the company expected to increase its production every year with a target of ramp-up to 8 million tons by 2016.

"We produced 3 million tons of coal last year. We target to produce about 5.5 millions ton of coal next year," he said.

Dadang said that the coal has a low calorie of 4,100 GAR and mostly are exported to China, India and Thailand.

The company has a 2,096 hectares of concession of which 790 hectares have reached exploitation stage.

"We are currently doing exploration on total area of around 1,200 hectares," Dadang said.
