Bumi Resources bags new coal supply deal

Indonesia?s largest coal producer, PT Bumi Resources said that the company had signed a new coal supply deal with East-Asia buyer for the supply to start next month.

Bumi Resources? investor relation director, Dileep Srivastava declined to name the company, saying the contract was signed last week with its first shipment would be made on November.

?The of coal is priced at US$133.4 per tonne with calorific value of 6,700 kcal/kg,? he said.

The new contract would be valid until September 2012.

PT Bumi Resources plans to up its production to 66 million tonnes of coal this year from last year?s 60 million tonnes.

Dileep added that the company had secured contracts with several other companies which would purchase most of its planned output of coal this year. ?There are only between 1 to 2 million tonnes which would be sold without a contract,? he said. (giok)
