Indonesia biggest coal producer PT Bumi Resources? sales to China dropped by over 60 percent in the first half of the year, but the firm was able to ramp up sales to India and to Japan.

Director and Corporate Secretary Dileep Srivastava told Petromindo.com on Monday that the company booked over 18 million tons of sales to China in the first half of last year. "But (in the first of) this year, the sales were less than 7 million tons," he said.

Sales to India however increased significantly to more than 18 million tons. "Sales to India doubled, while sales to Japan were up by one or two million tons," Dileep said, without specifying the reasons behind the drop in the exports of China.
