Bumi Siak Pusako plans to use own crude pipeline

The Joint Operating Body of PT Bumi Siak Pusako and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi has sent a proposal to upstream authority SKK Migas that it may stop using the crude pipeline owned by PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) and build its own crude pipeline.

Salis Aprilian, the commissioner of the JOB, said the CPI pipeline now used by the firm to transmit its crude production from the Coastal Plain Pekanbaru (CPP) block onshore Central Sumatra is already too old and also too big in size for the CPP production volume that losses occur during the transmission.

A new and smaller pipe that will be built by the JOB is expected to reduce the losses, he said, adding that the JOB now produces 18,000.

CPP block was formerly owned by CPI. That?s why most of the block?s facilities remain integrated with the CPI facilities.
