Publicly listed energy-based company PT Bumi Resources Tbk planned to transfer its workers in Yemen as the company?s Block R-2 abd Block 13 oil fields in the country yet to start operation, Neraca daily reported on Monday.

The company?s chief executive officer Eddie J. Soebari said in Jakarta over the weekend that the company was still assessing the transfer plan. "The board of directors are still studying the plan," he added.

About the TAC project in Sambidoyong, West Java, Eddie said that the management was still considering whether or not to review the project. He, however, did not provide details about the fate of the exploration project in the Sambidoyong oil field.

Earlier reports said that the company had halted the exploration activities at the field after a test showed that the field was not economically viable for a further development. The company said it would review the project because the exploration costs in the field would be too expensive. (*)
