Bumi wants to shift KPC domestic marketing right to Enercorp

Coalminer PT.Bumi Resources Tbk is planning to shift domestic selling agency right for its Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) products from Glencore AG to Enercorp, Bumi top official said Wednesday.

Bumi president Ari Hudaya said the company was in talks with Glencore, but thus far it had not reached any agreement.

Glencore was given agency right to sell KPC?s coal to overseas market except Japan and to Domestic market. Japan?s selling right was given to Mitsubishi Corp.

Enercorp, which is 51 percent owned by Bumi, has right to sell PT.Arutmin Indonesia?s coal product for Domestic market, while export market righ was given to BHPBilliton, former owner of Arutmin.

KPC is the owner of both KPC and Arutmin.

KPC?s domestic market sales is currently less than 5%, but it is planning to boost domestic sales with commencement of its Bengalon mine next year. (alex)
