The Bangka Belitung provincial administration is expected to issue in October a new bylaw on the export ban of rare earth minerals from the province, kontan.co.id reported.
The news portal quoted Bangka Belitung Governor Ezaldi Rosman as saying Tuesday that tin miners in the province will also not be allowed to ship out unprocessed rare earth minerals to other regions in the country.
He said that the local administration demands miners to refine the rare earth minerals prior to export.
?The bylaw will be issued next month, it is currently being finalized and discussed,? he told the news portal on Tuesday, adding that the new policy is expected to lure fresh investment in smelter development in the province and opens up new jobs.
He claimed that the administration has discussed the upcoming new policy, and miners have no objection. (*)
