C. Kalimantan coal miner starts production

Forestry and coal mining firm PT Mitra Barito Group has started coal production from its coal mine in Muara Teweh, Central Kalimantan since end of 2010, the company?s top official told Petromindo.Com last week.
The official said that the company has produced around 60,000-80,000 tonnes of coal per month, currently. It plans to ramp up coal production to 200,000 tonnes per month next year, the official said.
The company?s coal production is sourced from a mine. ?We have another two coal mines in surrounding Muara Teweh area.? The other two coal mines are still in exploration stage, the official said.
The coal mine has a calorific value of 5,500-5,300 (ADB) with low sulphur, the official added. (denny)
