C. Kalimantan, Java to sign MoU on mine-mouth power plant project

The Central Kalimantan and Central Java provincial administrations are set to sign an MoU for the development of mine-mouth coal-fired power plant in the former with the electricity to be distributed to the latter via a planned 300-km undersea cable, reports said Friday.
Media Indonesia and Tempo.co quoted Central Kalimantan Governor Agustin Teras Narang as saying that the MoU was scheduled to be signed next month. He said that the mine-mouth power plant would be developed by a private firm and the electricity will be sold via state electricity firm PLN.
No further details were given including on who would develop the undersea cable. (*)
