C. Kalimantan suspends coal barges on Barito River

The Central Kalimantan provincial administration transportation office temporarily banned on Monday coal barges from travelling under the KH Hasan Basri bridge on the Barito River as water level has risen beyond normal level, Antara reported.

Transportation office official M. Nurdin said water level reached 11.40 meters Monday, exceeding the normal level following heavy rainfall.

He said the suspension will remain in place until the water level declines to normal level.(*)
