Upstream oil and gas company Caelus Energy has made gas discovery in South Bengara II PSC, onshore Kalimantan, an official with upstream oil and gas authority SKKMigas said.

SKKMigas Chief of Representative Djoko Widihananto told Petromindo.Com over the weekend that Bella-1 exploration well, which was spudded in September last year, was declared as a gas discovery. He did not give detail.

He also said Caelus is currently drilling the second well in the block called Teluk Bayur-1.

Caelus has 57 percent interest in the block, which was awarded in 2008. The remaining balance is held by ACG (South Bengara II Ltd.).
