Aruk CPP Block, a group of Riau people fighting for the full control of the Coastal Plain Pekanbaru (CP) oil block, has demanded Caltex Pacific Indonesia to issue time schedule for the disbursement of funds allocated as part of the compensation for the one-year extension of the oil block, Neraca reported on Monday.

Al Azhar, the chairman of the organization said in Pekanbaru, said on Monday that the schedule should be issued to ensure that Caltex would not break its promise.

?We also demand Caltex to the recruitment procedures and the criteria of personnel which will be trained to do the post which will be given for the locals,? he said.

The government agreed recently to give Caltex another one year to operate and manage the CPP oil block. In return, Caltex agreed to provide compensation in the form of community development and transfer of technology to the local people as the preparation to take over the future operation of the oil block.

Three positions in the new management such as vice chairman heads of general manager affairs and human resource development will be given to Riau people as part of the compensation.(*)
