Oil producer PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia (CPI) said Monday its operations in Riau had not been affected by last week?s flooding which inundated several parts of the province.
?Our operation has proceeded normally, and Caltex has not suffered any losses,? CPI spokesman Boediutomo told Petromindo.com Monday.
Flooding due to heavy downpour early last week inundated several regencies in Riau with Rokan Hulu regency being the hardest hit area. Nearly 30 houses in Rokan Hulu were submerged in floods, and this forced around 50,000 people to leave their homes.
CPI is Indonesia?s largest onshore oil producer which operates oil fields in Riau. It is the Indonesian unit of U.S. energy giant Chevron Texaco. (godang)
