Caltex, PetroChina bid for new oil blocks

President of the Indonesian subsidiary of PetroChina, Wei Zhigang said that the Chinese company was still studying the 10 oil blocks that have been included in the government’s auction.
Caltex’s president Humayunbosha also unveiled the oil company’s plan to bid for the 10 oil blocks now being tendered by the government. “We are focusing on concession areas that are located in East Java,” he said.
The ten oil and gas blocks are Lhokseumawe block on and offshore Lhokseumawe in Nangroe Aceh Darussalam; Ujungkulon block on and offshore Ujungkulon in Banten; North East Madura III, IV and V blocks offshore East Java; Rote I and II blocks offshore Rote island in East Nusatenggara; Babar block offshore Babar island in Maluku; Selaru block offshore Selaru island, Maluku; and Manokwari block on and offshore Berau in Papua.
