Oil producer PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia (CPI) has increased security at its project sites in Riau in anticipation of possible violent actions sparked by U.S.-led military invasion to Iraq, Kompas daily reported.

?We have stepped up security at our project sites,? CPI?s communications manager Hanafi was quoted as saying last week.

Hanafi said they had prepared a contingency plan to evacuate CPI?s foreign workers from Riau if the situation caused by the Iraqi war deteriorated.

He said however that his company?s activities were continuing normally.

CPI, Indonesian?s largest onshore oil producer, is a unit of world energy giant ChevronTexaco. (*)
