Canada?s Apolo Gold to start drilling in Lampung gold prospect in two weeks

Canadian junior exploration company Apolo Gold Inc. said Wednesday that it would start to drill the first hole on the Napal gold and silver property in Bandar Lampung, southern Sumatra, in the next two weeks.

The company said the drilling, using a size HQ drill, was expected to be finished within 30 days of drilling.

Apolo quoted a report produced by independent geologists it had hired as saying that this was the first of targets in Bandar Lampung.

?The first drill holes will be below #7 shaft where previous values of 18.40 grams per ton of gold and 158 grams of silver per ton were previously obtained,? Apolo said, adding that drilling would occur at -45 degrees to attempt to intercept the mineral zone 140 feet below the surface.

Apolo further said it intended to have an independent consultant review the core samples and submit a report on it findings.

In September 2002, Apolo acquired a gold-silver property, known as Napal Umbar Picung, which is located in the South Sumatra/West Java gold province, on the Trans Sumatra Fault Zone. (robert)
