Candidates for director position at MEMR unveiled

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has selected 16 names as candidates to fill in 11 director-level positions at the ministry.

The director-level positions are known locally as ?second echelon?, placed right under directorate general positions, known locally ?first echelon?.

The selection of the officials is part of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said?s efforts to reform the organization of the ministry, particularly on the first and second echelon levels. The minister offered chances for all interested people, from inside and outside the ministry, to apply for the top management levels. Interested people are selected by a team comprising among others academics.

The ministry has sent to President Joko Widodo 15 names for four director general positions and one secretary general of the National Energy Council (DEN) for final selection.

Sudirman said he expected the reorganization of the first and second echelon positions of the ministry will be completed by the end of this month.

MEMR?s Secretary General M. Teguh Pamudji unveiled the names of 16 candidates for the second echelon positions in his announcement dated April 14, 2015, the MEMR said in a statement on Friday.

The 16 candidates are:

6. Director of Coal Business Oversight (Director General of Minerals and Coal)
7. Head of Geological Survey Center (Geological Agency)
8. Secretary to MEMR Research and Development Agency (MEMR Research and Development Agency)
9. Head of Maritime Geological Research and Develomenet Center (MEMR Research and Development Agency)
10. Head of Oil and Gas Education and Training Center (MEMR Education and Training Agency)
11. Director of Oil Fuel (BPH Migas).
