Carat-1 drilling in Brantas PSC, E. Java reaches 620 m

Australian oil and gas firm Novus Petroleum on Wednesday said that drilling in Carat-1 well in Brantas production sharing contract (PSC) area East Java had reached 620 meters.

The company said only 9 meters progress was made this week as the drill pipe got stuck at 611-meter depth. Operations to free the pipe had been successful, said Novus.

The planned total depth for Carat-1 is 800 meters.

Novus holds 50 percent working interest in Brantas PSC, while Lapindo Brantas, the PSC operator holds the remaining 50 percent. (alex)
