Carat-1 well in Brantas PSC, E. Java reaches 611 m-depth

Australian listed oil, gas firm Novus Petroleum Limited announced on Wednesday that drilling in Carat-1 well in Brantas production sharing contract in East Java had reached 611 meters out of the planned depth of 800 meters.
Earlier, the company reported to recover gas from a sand formation that was interpreted to be a 9-meter-thick gas column after tests were run when the well reached a depth of 533 meters.
Novus holds 50 percent working interest in Brantas PSC, while local firm Lapindo Brantas, the block operator, holds the remaining 50 percent. (alex)
