Carat-1 well in Brantas PSC, East Java has reached 143m-depth

Australian oil, gas firm Novus Petroleum Limited said on Wednesday that Carat-1 well drilling in Brantas PSC in East Java, which spudded on 3 December 2001, had reached a depth of 143 metes.

According to Novus, the prognosed total depth of the well is 800 meters and it is expected to take 17 days to drill.

Brantas PSC is a gas-producing block, where Wunut gas field produces 20 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.

Lapindo Brantas, a local oil, gas firm holds 50 percent interest and operatorship in Brantas PSC, while Novus holds the remaining balance.(alex)
