CBM Asia may build small scale LNG facilities

CBM Asia said that the Canada-based firm is in discussions with LNG engineering companies on the possible deployment of small scale LNG facilities in Indonesia.

The capacity of the small scale facilities is targeted to reach 250,000 tons of LNG a year, the company said in a presentation, ?to supply the growing need of small LNG contracts for regional power and trading companies.?

The presentation did not mention specific location of the planned facilities. At present, CBM Asia has an 18 percent working interest in Kutai West CBM PSC in the province operated by Newton Energy Capital Limited.

The Kutai West block is adjacent to the Sanga-Sanga PSC, where BP, ENI, and partners (VICO Indonesia) have been commercially producing CBM and supplying it to existing large LNG facilities such as Bontang since March 2011.
