CBM Asia updates drilling status on Sekayu

Vancouver-based CBM developer CBM Asia Development Corp. announced Tuesday that intermediate casing operations on the CBM-SE04 well in Sekayu CBM PSC have been completed just above the Palembang coal group at 1874' (571 M).

The rig is moving to the CBM-SE03 location to conduct similar operations.

Coring operations will be conducted at the end of the three well program using a specialized coring rig.

The drilling operations on CBM-SE04 were interrupted and delayed by the replacement of the drilling contractor, the company said.

IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk is the block?s operator with 50 percent interest. The remaining balance is held by South Sumatra Energy Inc, in which CBM Asia has 13 percent stake. (alex)
