Cenko finds small coal reserves in Riau

Publicly listed company PT Central Korporindo International (Cenko) reported on Friday that its preliminary exploration program in Rakit Kulim district of the Indragiri Hulu regency, Riau Province, had found a total of 2.1 million tons of indicated coal reserves.

Cenko said the reserve was smaller than expected in relation to secure coal stock for its plan to build two power plant in the province, each with capacity of 2x7-megawatt.

Cenko earlier said it would need around 30,000 tons of coal per month for the power plants.

?We are currently considering either to continue with a comprehensive exploration or to explore for coal resources in other places of the regency,? Cenko said in a statement to the Jakarta Stock Exchange.(Robert)
