Some coal miners in Central Kalimantan find difficulties to transport their coal due to floods that hit the region, Kontan daily reported on Monday.

Dozens of barges carrying coal from their mines were unable to pass through Hasan Basri Muara Teweh Bridge because the level of Barito River has risen due to the flood, the paper said.

Some ten barges measuring 220 – 240 feets and carrying around 3,000 – 3,800 tons of coal each with a calorific value of 7,400 Kcal/kg were still stranded on the side of the river. The coal belongs among others to PT Marunda Grahamineral. (*)
