Central Korporindo to start own coal production

Central Korporindo Tbk (CNKO), which is thus far known as a coal trader, said Thursday would soon start its own production in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan.

?We are still waiting for the approval from the Directorate General of Geology and Mineral Resources. Once the exploitation permit is issued, we will start our production,? CNKO said in a statement to the Jakarta Stock Exchange.

CNKO said its 500-hectares coal concession is located in Asam-Asam, Kintap District, Tanah Laut Regency. Based on the feasibility study, the coalmine contains a demonstrated sub-bituminous coal reserve of around 11,308,621 tons.
