IDX-listed PT Central Omega Resources Tbk said nickel ore production last year reached 2.42 million tons, a 68.06 percent surge from 1.44 million tons in 2011.
?The increase is in line with the company?s success in increasing production capacity at two nickel mines owned by the company?s subsidiaries, where production capacity last year increased by 51.04 percent to 2.90 million tons,? President Director Kiki Hamidjaja told Petromindo.com Thursday.
He said that the company?s subsidiaries PT Mulia Pacific Resources operates mine in Morowali, Central Sulawesi, and PT Bumi Konawe Abadi operates mine in North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi.
Meanwhile, sales volume nickel ore in 2012 reached 2.36 million tons, a 77.44 percent increase from 1.33 million tons in 2011. As a result, revenue last year soared by 75.05 percent to Rp 849 billion, compared to Rp 485 billion in 2011, Kiki said.
With the strong results, the company plans this year to start construction of nickel ore processing and refinery facility through PT Yieh United Omega in cooperation with E United Group of Taiwan, Kiki said.
