CEP to complete AMDAL study by February 2016

PT Cirebon Energy Prasarana (CEP), the owner of PLTU Cirebon coal fired power plant in Cirebon regency, West Java province said the environment study (Amdal) for the expansion of the power plant will be completed next month.
CEP?s President Director Heru Dewanto told Petromindo.com on Friday that the company has conducted the AMDAL study after obtaining the principal permit from the local government several months ago.
"We expect to complete the AMDAL study by February 2016," he said.
CEP is a consortium comprising of Marubeni Corporation, Indika Energy Tbk, Samtan Co. Ltd, Korea Midland Power Co. Ltd, and Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc. The so-called PLTU Cirebon Expansion with a capacity of 1x1000 MW will be built in Kanci village, Cirebon regency with a construction period of 51 months. Commercial Operation Date (COD) is scheduled for the first semester of 2020. Since lands for the project has been appropriated thanks to the supports from the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Forestry, the project is expected to be completed earlier than schedule, the firm earlier said.
Investment for the project is estimated at Rp 26 trillion. It will be equipped with an ultra-supercritical boiler, which is claimed to be more environmentally-friendly and fuel-efficient compared to the conventional ones. At present, PLTU Cirebon has a capacity of 1x660 MW.
