A new production facility called ?Well Pad B First Oil (WPBFO)? at the Banyu Urip project in the Cepu block is scheduled to add 48,000 bopd to the field?s oil production this month, according to a top official of upstream authority SKK Migas.
?During a site visit to Cepu last week, test results at the field showed that the additional production will reach 48,000 bopd, despite the fact it is planned to produce only around 35,000 bopd," Chairman of SKK Migas Amien Sunaryadi told Petromindo.com.
Currently, Cepu relies on two production facilities, namely the EPF (Early Production Facility) and EOE (Early Expansion Facility). The EPF on Well Pad A produces around 30,000 bopd, while the EOE on Well Pad C produces around 11,100 bopd. The total production is now reaching 41,100 bopd.
Meanwhile, Unit Head for Acceleration of Banyu Urip Project at SKK Migas Julius Wiratno confirmed to Petromindo.com that if WPBFO produces 30,000-35,000 bodp, the total production of the Cepu block will rise to 75,000 bopd.
"Then, we'll see and evaluate whether its production can be increased again gradually,? he added.
