Cepu field production exceeds 3,100 bopd

Oil production at the Cepu field within the Cepu block in the border areas of Central and East Java has exceeded the 3,100 bopd mark, PT Pertamina EP said in a statement obtained Thursday.

The company said that as of Thursday, production has reached 3,182 bopd, or 154 percent higher than the 1,248 bopd target set for August. In January of this year, production was 1,687 bopd.

Production started to accelerate in April, which jumped to 2,379 bopd, Pertamina EP said.

The company said that there were significant contributions from the Kawengan, Semanggi, Tiungbiru and Tapen structures to the latest solid production performance.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik on Tuesday aired optimism that the country?s oil lifting would reach 1 million bopd by September 2014 from 831,118 bopd in June on stronger production at the Cepu block.
