Cepu starts oil production

Indonesian unit of US oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp. said that giant Cepu block has started oil production on Monday.
?Crude production from Banyu Urip field has been flowing starting this afternoon,? ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia (EMOI) VP External Relations Maman Budiman told Petromindo.Com on Monday.
He did not give detail about production volume.
Meanwhile, R. Priyono, Head of upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said production from Banyu Urip will start at 2,000-5,000 BPD and would reach 15,000 BPD next month.
First phase production from Banyu Urip is set at 20,000 BPD and will reach 165,000 BPD in 2013.
EMOI and Pertamina have equal stake of 45 percent in Cepu with regional government owned companies having the remaining 10 percent. (godang/kanti)
