Upstream authority BPMIGAS has targeted Banyu Urip field in Cepu block on the borders of Central Java and East Java to start oil production in May 2014 with an initial volume of 90,000 barrels per day (bpd).

The output will gradually increase to 150,000 bpd in August and 185,000 bpd in November the same year, BPMIGAS? Head R. Priyono said on Tuesday during a hearing with the House of Representatives? Commission VII which oversees among others energy affairs.

?The schedule of the project is very tight. All these can only be achieved if all parties support.

?If the production targets are achieved, Indonesia will hit the 1 million bpd oil production mark in 2014,? he said.

Priyono thus called on Mobil Cepu Limited, the subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corp, which operates the block, to accelerate the execution of project works without ignoring quality of works.
