Indonesian ceramic industry will require gas supply of 68-75MMCFD of gas in 2011-12 as more players are setting up factories to anticipate increasing demand, Ceramic Association Chairman Achmad Wijaya said as quoted by media.
Wijaya said that this year ceramic industry is expected to consume 53-54 MMCFD of gas. Wijaya urged state gas distribution firm PT PGN (Persero) to ensure gas supply for ceramic industry.
Wijaya said the whole industrial sector in Indonesia needs 486 MMCFD in 2010 but PGN only managed to supply 386 MMCFD, leaving the industry scrambling for gas supply. (*)
