CFK secures loan for coal-fired power plant project in E. Kalimantan

PT Cahaya Fajar Kaltim (CFK) has secured syndicated loan worth Rp310 billion with the maturity of eight years from PT Bank Mega, PT Bank Bukopin and PT Bank Pan Indonesia, Kompas reported Saturday.
The syndicated loan deal was signed in Jakarta on Friday.
CFK said that the loan will be used to build a 50 MW coal-fired power plant in Embalut Village, Kutai Kertanegara in East Kalimantan. The power plant is scheduled for operation in early 2008.
CFK is a consortium of companies made up of PT Kaltim Elektrik Power, Dahlan Iskan, and East Kalimantan?s regional firm.
On June 2006, the government approved the fast-track construction of 19 coal-fired power projects outside Java worth US$8 billion over the next four years, included Embalut power plant. (*)
