Acting Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) Chairul Tanjung has placed three people at the ministry with the task of supporting the ministry?s officials in solving legal issues and problems that have been hampering the development of oil and gas projects.

The three people are Monti Griyana, Deputy for Coordination of Energy and Mineral Resources at Coordinating Ministry for the Economy; Edy Abdurrachman, Secretary of Coordinating Ministry for the Economy; and Lambok V Nathan, Secretary of State Secretariat Minister.

Chairul, who is also Coordinating Minister for the Economy, was recently appointed as acting minister of energy and mineral resources to replace Jero Wacik who has resigned after being named a suspect in extortion case by the Corruption Eradication Commision (KPK).

He said he will be based at the office of coordinating minister for the economy and let Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Susilo Siswoutomo handle the daily operation of the MEMR.

"Since I am still serving as a coordinating minister, I will not be based at the MEMR full time. The vice minister will be responsible for the MEMR day-to-day,? he said.
