Chairul Tanjung inaugurates several energy projects

Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chairul Tanjung, who is also interim Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, inaugurated on Wednesday several energy projects worth US$7.388 billions in Bojonegoro, East Java.

Present at the ceremony were among others Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Susilo Siswoutomo, members of the House of Representatives? Commission VII in charge of energy affairs, Governor of West Java Ganjar Pranowo, East Java Governor Soekarwo, acting President Director of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina Muhammad Husen, President Director of state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) Nur Pamudji

The inaugurated projects are as follows.
1. Production facilities of Banyu Urip field, Cepu block in Central and East Java. The block is operated by Mobil Cepu Ltd (MCL) and PT Petamina EP Cepu. It is owned by ExxonMobil, Pertamina in partnership with four regional government-owned firms PT Sarana Patra Hulu Cepu (owned by Central Java province), PT Asri Dharma Sejahtera (owned by Bojonegoro regency), PT Blora Pergas Hulu (owned by Blora regency), and PT Petrogas Jatim Utama Cendana (owned by East Java province). Investment for the project totals $2.525 billion.
2. Donggi Senoro LNG plant, which is owned by PT DSLNG, which comprises of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, PT Medco LNG Indonesia and Sulawesi LNG Development Ltd. Investment for the project amounts to $2.8 billion.
3. PLTU Nagan Raya in Aceh, 2x110 MW. The power plant will supply power to Aceh and North Sumatra, allowing PLN to cut oil fuel consumption by 197,000 kiloliters worth Rp 1.67 trillion per year.
4. PLTU Tanjung Balai Karimun in Riau Archipelago, 2x7 MW. It will supply power to Karimun Island, allowing PLN to cut oil fuel consumption by 24,000 kl worth Rp 212 billion per year.
5. PLTU Teluk Sirih in West Sumatra, 2x112 MW. It will supply power mainly to West Sumatra, enable PLN to cut oil fuel consumption b 397,000 kl worth Rp 3.4 trillion per year.
6. PLTU Tarahan Baru Unit I in Lampung, 100 M. It will supply power to Lampung and enable PLN to cut oil fuel consumption by 177,000 kiloliters worth Rp 1.5 trillion per year.
7. PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu 2 in West Java, 3x350 MW. It will supply power to Pelabuhan Ratu area, southern part of West Java and Java-Bali grid.
8. PLTU Tanjung Awar-Awar 3 Unit 1 in East Java, 350 MW. It will supply power to East Java and the Java-Bali grid.
9. PLTU Barru in South Sulawesi, 2x50 MW. It will supply power to South Sulawesi and enable PLN to cut oil fuel consumption by 177,000 kiloliters worth Rp 1.5 trillion per year.
10. PLTU Kendari Unit 1 in Southeast Sulawesi, 10 MW. It will supply power to Southeast Sulawesi and enable PLN to cut oil fuel consumption by 17,000 kiloliters worth Rp 151 billion per year.
11. PLTU Mataram Unit 3 in Lombok, West Nusatenggara, 25 MW, to supply power to Lombok and enable PLN to cut oil fuel consumption by 44,000 kiloliters worth Rp 379 billion per year
12. PLTP Patuha in Bandung, West Java, 1 x 55 MW. The project is developed by PT Geo Dipa Energi with an investment of $144 million. The geothermal power plant is now in the process of synchronization with PLN?s cable network.
13. Arun-Belawan gas pipeline. A 350-km pipeline that will transmit gas from Aceh to North Sumatra. The $586.04 million project is in progress
14. The Gresik-Semarang gas pipeline. The $350 million project starts construction.
