IDX-listed PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP), Indonesia's largest integrated petrochemical company, said it has awarded NYSE-listed engineering and EPC giant Chicago Bridge and Iron Company (CB&I) the material supply agreement to revamp existing furnaces of its naphtha cracker plant in Cilegon, Banten Province.

?Both companies had signed basic and detailed engineering services agreement earlier this year. The furnace revamp is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020,? Chandra Asri said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company explained the furnace revamping project, of which construction will commence in third quarter of 2018, will increase CAP's ethylene production capacity from 860 KTA (kilo tons per annum) to 900 KTA, propylene from 470 KTA to 490 KTA, py-gas from 400 KTA to 420 KTA, and mixed C4 from 315 KTA to 330 KTA. These additional production capacities will enable CAP to further serve Indonesian demand for petrochemical products. No further details were provided.
