Chandra Asri?s net profit jumps 636%

IDX-listed integrated petrochemical company PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk said that net profit in the first semester of this year jumped by 636 percent to US$131.75 million compared to $17.91 million in the same January-June period of last year.

Investor Daily, quoting a company statement, said on Monday that the soaring net profit was a result of higher product margins and stronger sales volume from its new ethylene cracker capacity.

The company said that net sales in the first semester of this year increased by 10.4 percent to $882.11 million, year-on-year. Gross profit jumped by 147 percent to $217.96 million, year-on-year. Gross profit margin more than doubled to 24.7 percent from 11 percent.

Chandra Asri said that sales volume in the first semester of this year increased by 37 percent to 1,037.8 kilo tons from 755.7 kilo tons. (*)
