Chemical firm to build coal-fired power plant

IDX-listed PT PT Intanwijaya Internasional Tbk, a producer of chemical-based products, plans to develop a 2x18 MW coal-fired power plant in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
The company said in a statement obtained Monday that the construction of the power plant would help meet the lingering electricity shortage in the province.
It added that the planned expansion into the electricity sector would add value to shareholders of the company. No further details were provided.
