Chevron appointed to conduct preliminary geothermal survey

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik has appointed PT Jasa Daya Chevron, a subsidiary of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia, to conduct a preliminary survey of geothermal in Gunung Geureudong in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam province.

The appointment was based on the ministerial decree (Keputusan Menteri ESDM No.1905 K/30/MEM/2013), which was signed on 5th April 2013. The target of the geothermal survey is a mountainous area of 108,500 hectare. The preliminary survey will be completed within 12 months since the appointment is made and it cannot be transferred to others.

In case that within one month PT Jasa Daya Chevron failed to carry out the survey then the appointment will be revoked.

All costs of doing the survey will be the responsibility of PT Jasa Daya Chevron.
