Chevron completes seismic acquisition in West Papua I, III

Upstream authority SKK Migas said that Chevron Pacific Indonesia has completed survey activities on West Papua I and West Papua III blocks.
Nugrahani, Head of Exploration at SKK Migas, told petromindo.com that the company is now awaiting an evaluation on the seismic results. If the results are positive, exploration drilling program is expected to take place in 2014 and 2015.
West Papua I block is located both onshore and offshore West Papua and covers a total area of 3,993 sq km, with Chevron controlling a 51 percent interest. BP West Papua I Limited holds a 32 percent while Moeco West Papua I Co. Ltd owned another 17 percent.
The West Papua III block meanwhile, also located both onshore and offshore West Papua, covers a total area of 3,997.36 sq km, with Chevron controlling a 51 percent interest. BP West Papua III Limited holds a 32 percent while Moeco West Papua III Co. Ltd owned another 17 percent.
