U.S. oil giant Chevron Corp?s Indonesian net natural gas production reached 293 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) in the first quarter of 2006 or nearly double compared to the same period a year ago of 147 MMCFD as it consolidated former Unocal?s output.

Unocal is a large producer of natural gas in Indonesia. Chevron acquired Unocal last August.

Chevron reported Friday that its net liquids production, however, slightly declined to 194,000 barrels per day (BPD) from 195,000 BPD.

Chevron?s Indonesian net liquids output reached 202,000 BPD in 2005. (Robert)
