Chevron eyeing east Indonesia blocks

Chevron Indonesia said it is assessing oil and gas blocks that will be offered by the government in 2012. Chevron is eyeing more deepwater potentials in eastern Indonesia.

"We are evaluating all blocks to be offered by the government this year. We are interested in those located in eastern Indonesia," Yanto Sianipar, Vice President Chevron Indonesia, told Petromindo.com.

Yanto declined to comment on what blocks that Chevron is eyeing.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry is expected to offer 40 oil and gas blocks as well as coal bed methane (CBM) in 2012.
