Chevron IndoAsia appoints new managing director

Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit announced on Monday that Charles (Chuck) A. Taylor has been appointed as its managing director, effective July 1, pending an approval from the upstream authority SKK Migas.

Chuck Taylor replaces Jeffrey E. Shellebarger, who is assuming the role of president of Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company in Houston, Texas, USA, the company said in a press statement on Monday.

"We thank Jeff for his significant contribution to Chevron's business in Indonesia and the Philippines over the last seven years. We also welcome Chuck Taylor, who has a wealth of international experience, including in Indonesia, which an indication of our management strength and commitment to our business interests in both countries," said President of Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration & Production Company, Melody Meyer.

Prior to his appointment, Chuck Taylor was vice president of Strategic Planning for Chevron Corporation, a position he held since 2011.

Previously Taylor served as vice president of Health, Environment and Safety from 2007 to 2011. He also was responsible for Chevron's Environmental Management Company. Since joining Chevron in 1980, Chuck has held senior international exploration and production positions in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and Indonesia.

The Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit manages Chevron's upstream oil, gas and geothermal activities in Indonesia and the Philippines. Chevron has established relationship with Indonesia and Philippines for many decades. Chevron is the largest crude oil producer in Indonesia, with operations in Riau, Sumatra; a leading natural gas producer in East Kalimantan; and the largest producer of geothermal energy in Indonesia.
