Chevron officials meet vice president

Top officials of American oil and gas giant company Chevron met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the latter?s office on Monday.

After the meeting, Senior Vice President Policy, Government and Public Affairs of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia Yanto Sianipar said that his firm will maintain its commitment to develop the Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD) project in the Makassar Strait.

"We conveyed our commitment to continue the IDD project in the Makassar Strait which is now in the process of filing for the revision POD," he said, referring to plan of development.

Yanto hopes the government would approve the POD as the project is considered strategic for Indonesia, particularly related to gas production in the future.

He claimed that Vice President Kalla welcomed the commitment of Chevron's investment plan in Indonesia. On the occasion, Chevron also expressed appreciation to a number of economic stimulus programs launched by the government, particularly related to streamlining of licensing procedure, which was considered capable of improving the investment climate.

The company also introduced Steve Green, as the new President of Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production, to be effective on May 1, 2016.
