Chevron, Ormat, Tata compete to win N. Sumatra geothermal right

A Petromindo.Com source said that energy giant Chevron Corp. through its unit PT Jasa Daya Chevron is among the bidders, competing with consortium of PT Medco Geothermal Energy and US firm Ormat International Inc. Consortium of PT Supraco Energy and Indian firm The Tata Power Company and Australia?s Origin Energy is also among bidders, along with local companies PT Mitrajaya Power, PT Star Energy Investment, PT Cahaya Lentera Anak Mas Sakti and PT Zaskya.
The source said the regency administration has decided to delay the announcement of stage one winners which should have been announced on March 5, 2010 due to undisclosed reasons.
The geothermal prospect has the potential to generate 200-MW of electricity. (alex)
