Chevron ready to invest $6 billion in Indonesia: BP Migas

US oil major Chevron Corp has expressed its readiness to invest US$6 billion in oil projects in deep waters area, East Kalimantan, Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body's BPMigas chairman Kardaya Warnika said.
However, Kardaya did not name the area.
According to Kardaya, Chevron is also planning to develop Duri oil field to boost the production. The company has set a target of additional 6,000 barrels of oil per day by developing Duri oil field, he said.
?Chevron will invest more money in offshore oil projects, especially in exploration activities but it refused to name the area,? He said.
Besides Chevron, Kardaya also met with the executives of other American companies like ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil.
BP Migas had conveyed the request of Vice President Jusuf Kalla, asking Conoco to start exploration work at Block A PSC in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. (godang)
