Chevron?s oil pipeline leak at Rokan PSC, production unaffected

No injury was reported in the incident, which took place at about 6 a.m , upstream oil, gas regulator BPMIGAS? spokesman Elan Biantoro said.
?Chevron is conducting a field investigation. The cause of the leakage has not been identified, but we will update the information, pending an official report from Chevron,? Biantoro said.
CPI senior official Yanto Sianipar confirmed the accident to Petromindo, but said it did not affect the company?s production.
The leaked pipe connects Bangko and Balam which supplies crude oil to Dumai for export shipment.
?The pipe is being repaired and our stock in Dumai is safe,? he said, adding that the shipping activities were unperturbed.
?While shipping pipeline to Dumai undergoes repair works, we keep crude oil from our wells at tanks in the collecting stations,? he said. (godang)
