Chevron?s Parit Minyak-1 well plugged and abandoned

Upstream oil and gas watchdog BPMIGAS said on Thursday that the third interval test at Parit Minyak-1 exploration well in Chevron-operated Kisaran Block in central Sumatra has flowed 99 percent water and the operator decided to cancel fourth interval test.

Dodi Hidayat, BPMIGAS deputy operations said that the well was tested at 5,900-5,970 feet interval.

The well was temporarily plugged and abandoned pending further evaluation, he said.

Previous tests at the depth of 9,734 feet flowed 63 barrels of oil per day at 8,970-9,020 feet interval and 89 BPD at 6225 - 6350 feet interval.

Parit Minyak is the first well drilled in the Block. Chevron is the block operator with 50 percent working interest. Pacific Oil and Gas has the remaining balance. (godang)
