Chevron's power problem resolved, oil fields back to normal operation

"Chevron confirms that during a lightening storm at our Sumatra operations on June 5 a power outage has occurred and impacting our operations.
All employees and contractors are safe and accounted for. As of June 6, the power outage in our operations has been resolved and we can now supply electricity to our wells in our fields and BOB (Bumi Siak Pusako)," spokesperson for Chevron's Indonesian operations Santi Manuhutu said in a statement on Friday.
According to Santi, the outage caused a short supply of electricity in Chevron's Minas, Kotabatak, Petapahan, Menggala, South Balam, Bangko , Bekasap fields, which are all located in Rokan PSC) and as well as the adjacent fields operated by BOB Bumi Siak Pusako.
Following the incident On Thursday, oil and gas upstream regulator BPMIGAS's Deputy Chairman in Charge of Operations Dodi Hidayat warned the incident could cause a 40,000 barrels per day (BPD) of oil production loss at Minas alone.
CPI is the biggest oil producer in Indonesia with production of around 420,000 BPD including from Minas.(godang)
